The purpose of massage is to allow the body to function as optimally as possible. There are a number of factors, the so-called contraindications, as a result of which massage in its entirety (absolutely) or partially (relatively) may not or cannot be performed or pay attention per person or situation where caution is required.
Absolutely not at all:
* With heart problems and heart abnormalities: relaxation can lower the heart rhythm
* High blood pressure
* Thrombosis and use of blood thinners
* Serious vascular disorders all over the body: damage to weakened vessels due to pressure
* Too much pain and fatigue: insufficient processing of the various massage stimuli
* Infectious skin diseases: stimulation of the process, therefore danger of expansion or aggravation
* Fever: massage will aggravate the increased metabolism.
* With certain medications, including antibiotics, antidepressants, anti-inflammatories and medications, which can affect driving ability
* Infectious diseases, such as flu and severe colds: massage will worsen the symptoms
* Inflammations: risk of aggravation or spread
* Pimples: danger of infection and spreading.
* (former) cancer patients: without a statement from their medical specialist, only with a specially trained masseur
* Pregnancy during the first trimester
* Drugs and/or alcohol use
Absolutely locally not on the particular part of the body where it is located, the rest of the body can:
* Acute trauma, injury, trauma, bruising or swelling
* Thickenings, where there is doubt about the cause
Relatively general or local yes but adapted per person and situation in terms of duration, recumbency, techniques used, speed and rhythm technique execution and especially pressure.
In other words, caution should be used with:
* Bone and muscle diseases, such as rheumatism, osteoporosis, arthritis
* Recovery period after surgery or illness
* Slight vascular disorders
- varicose veins
* Ex-cancer patients who have a statement from their medical specialist that they may be massaged
Contra indication for singing bowl massage:
* Thrombosis
* Pacemaker
* Epilepsy
* Psychosis
* Varicose veins
* High blood pressure
* Pregnancy: the bowls can be used around the body, but not on the body.
